Danger of shorter OAL?

Oops, some clarification. The recipe I used was 7.7 - 7.9gr and my OAL was 1.230-1.237. That is from the Accurate website. My Sierra book had the OAL up at 1.270 but it did NOT specify lead bullets hence my using the Accurate recipe.

Agreed. You will get there with less muzzle flip. Most, if not all, competitors use powders faster than AA #5.

Nice looking round Skip a roo, very nice.
Thank you Walk.

It is from a Saeco mould, #496BB and weighs right at 225gr. Very nice 1911 bullet. Accurate and economical to cast. My lube is White Label Carnuba Red (2700) and they are a joy to shoot!

I have two moulds that give me 45 caliber 200gr LSWC bullets. One is a Lee 6 cavity the other is an original H&G #68. That is the one I like best. Here is a mound of bullets I made from that mould.

Walk,
That is a 270gr from an Ohaus mould copy made by NEI. The mould isn't mine and these bullet were gifted to me. They have very little of the bullet in the case. I got around 800fps with them. Can't remember the load at present.

Here is a picture of 50 rounds of the Saeco #496BB, double action at 15 yards with 5.1gr of HP-38 from my M625JM. Pretty good for an old blind guy! :)

I found this picture I took at the time I loaded those bullets. The one on the far right is the one from the Ohaus copy. The one on the far left is my H&G #502.
