From what I understand, they called the PD to ask permission and were told NO. So he blatantly did it anyway. This was not ignorance of the law, not that ignorance is an excuse, this was a blatant violation of the law.
That's what makes me so angry about this. They talk about how we need more and more laws, yet they break those same laws when it pleases them.
Since when can LE Agencies grant someone permission to break the law? Even if he 'asked', can someone actually permit such a thing?
Maybe he could have requested a police escort for his mag prop ~ maybe handcuffed to the Officer?
