Your right and as I look up their stats it seems most of their crime is auto theft or pickpocketing.

You mean most of their REPORTED stats. There are some odd reporting methods by European countries when it comes to crime stats. Some for instance don't report the crime until after someone has been convicted. Think about how long it takes to get a murder conviction here. You could easily be looking at rates of crimes which were committed several years ago. And if somehow there is never any conviction, "vell, I guess ze crime never happened, eh comrade?" Remember that countries have a vested interest in making their crime stats look good, so you can't always take those numbers at face value.

I personally wouldn't want to raise my kids in Eastern Europe, but that's just me. Some of those countries also have a tiny problem with sex trafficking too... :uhoh:

The crime thing is big everywhere I think in such a place it would be much more enjoyable for myself as i have issues with certain things here. Especially in Florida.

That may be, but you're also much more likely to be mugged, robbed or otherwise assaulted than you are here.

Crime is also very underreported in Eatern Europe, and tons of people just disappear. It's not a nice place.

All I can tell you is that you'll almost certainly find out you were wrong. You're young; Try living here a little while first. America may not be perfect, but there's no place better on this planet. Why do you think people risk life and limb to get here? On the other hand, there aren't too many Americans chomping at the bit to run off to the Eastern Bloc..........

We're getting into much broader issues now, and the self-defense question has been answered.

Regarding moving to eastern Europe... you need to do a lot of research, and then go for an extended visit or three before you commit to a permanent move. You may find the things you think will be better there, aren't, and the pile of other 'baggage' that comes with life there doesn't suit you. Finding the gun and self-defense laws in Florida too restrictive sends up huge warning flags for your eventual happiness in any other country of the world. Do your research carefully.
