The shoot will be at TDSA at 10AM on the 29th of this month.

Please let us know if you are not a member, so we can arrange for you to be a guest. Let me know if you have any questions about directions, hardware allowed, other members, etc.

On the calendar.

I was there last weekend and Len said there was non-falling steel on bay 1 now, no extra fee for that.
I saw 3 or 4 10" plates.

And a bump.

Bought my 10 year old a P22 and some extra mags; he wants to try a little more than single shots at a tin can.

I'll have him with me but he probably won't shoot with others around. We may have to go to an isolated bay for a while.

Everyone is welcome, we just ask that we get a firm RSVP for guests. TDSA is located down 45, a few miles south of 20. If you want to come, I'll dig up the more detailed directions.

hey, what ever happened to Gibson's?

At least that was less than 50 miles from my house (just barely)...

You mean the worst range Nazi on planet Earth? That Gibsons?

The Gibsons where I took my 11.5" AR out of the case and he was ready to call the cops because "you can't own something like that in Texas".

Or the Gibsons that told me I couldn't shoot my BAR because "We don't 'llow no fifty cal here"

That Gibsons?

That's why no Gibsons. We all had a bad experience of one kind or another.

He made it real clear to us that he likes guys that want to sight in their deer rifles with a few rounds and leave, nothing more.

Over a couple visits, they had hacked off most of the people in our group for one thing or another. Either attitude at the front desk or problems on the line.

Man, that sounds like fun. When do you need to assemble the guest list (got to ask the wifey.) What's the admission price?

As long as I have a decent count by tomorrow, it should be ok.

Admission... hmmm... I think 100 rounds of Q3131, XM193, 9mm, or .45 should do it. :D

Just kidding. No admission cost.

Ok, one last bump.

Tomorrow's forecast is sunny and 54 at 10AM tomorrow, sunny and 65 at noon, and a high of 71 later in the afternoon.

It looks like no more rain for us, and I'm going to assume that it will be plenty dry by then.

Sounds good. It's mostly a rifle day for me, with the new K31 and all....

Bringing:
K-31s
BAR
Browning auto 22
Delta with .40 barrel just to see if it's reliable.

Kid is bringing his:
Walther P22
Chipmunk

We're bringing food and planning on staying past lunchtime.

Wife say's, "Baby formula beats .357 mag ammo, so no! You can't go."

Hope we cross paths in the future.

THAT is why I just smile when people say "You shoot a .22? Hah hah....."

Maybe some day. We try to do these monthly if the weather holds up.....

So buy some .38spl and you can still afford the formula :D

CLP is like baby Formula. :D

I don't know how long I can stay. I'll be getting in around 2 am and have to repack for another trip on Monday. It'll probably just be a couple hours for me. :(
All I'm bringing is a Glock 22 that I've been working on and 1 45.

Gibson's...well, all righty then!

My one visit there was characterised by a fairly unpleasant older lady at the desk. Yes, I could see how you could maybe make some of the responses--I did not experience them but I'll take your word for it. As I say, one visit, and it's a ways down the road, so no great loss.

But...this other place is much farther. Any hope I have of meeting felow THR'ers diminishes proportional to the distance travelled. If you are riflemen, the maybe Elm Fork or Backwoods Traps? If you are pistoleros, how about Bass Pro in Grapevine or DFW Gun Range off Mockingbird?

BTW, anyone make it to the Denton Gun Show today? Not a bad place to spend a rainy Saturday morning, but probably more crowded than any Gun Show in recent memory...
