The other day I walk into the local gunshop and seen a Rock River Arms Elite Operator in 5.56 NATO seating on the shelve and just had to have it.

I've heard such great things about the RRA rifles that I went home got my Bushmaster E2S carbine with a RGuns upper and traded it in on the EO.

Not worrying about the price differences between the two, did I get a better rifle out of the deal?

When we are pretending to be 'operators' engaged in 'operations' (actually waiting for the ammo truck at Wal+Mart), no one wants to be the 'Entry Operator'. Although 'Tactical Operator' still sounds kinda cool.

Elite Operator.

Who names this stuff?
'Elite Operator', 'Commando', 'Special Forces', 'Combat ......' 'Military or Mil Spec', are sales gimmicks. People have been falling for this for many years.

All the OP wants to know is if he got a better rifle in the opinion of our members.

Mil-Spec, Entry Operator Elite Comat = marketing garbage

The only "mil-spec" I own is a 1942 M1 Garand.
My other firearms are all "civilian-spec" :D

It says "elite," so it must be better! :D

I don't have much experience with a Rock River at all, but I think the general consensus is that it's at least as good or slightly better than the Bushmaster.

This and this. I got into a rather heated debate when perusing a wall of ARs and an employee of the gun store came over to spout off how they were military rifle clones. Mil-spec this and that. They were not. He did not appreciate being told that his rifles were not what we carry.

RRA has a pretty good reputation. I think you "done good" (although I am pretty new to the AR platform myself and have a lot to learn).

Let's simplify this.

If you had a choice between getting a Bushmaster XM15 E2S or a Rock River Elite Operator which would you choose and why?

Simple.
If you like it better-you did good.
If you still have doubts and "buyers remorse"- maybe not.

Not so much that I have any doubts or buyers remorse, I just don't have the time to read every review. I figure that either you or someone else might have heard of a issue that I have not. Basically I'm just trying to draw on the combine experience/knowledge base of those on this forum to confirm that the rifle is as good as I believe it to be.

I love my Elite Operator, especially since I got rid of the awful hand guard and replaced it with a Midwest Industries

Rock River ARms should be good. With a little more money on top of RRA, then get the Daniel Defense M4 V7.

I've used RRA barrels, BCGs and lowers for builds. They're as good as anything else out there. Friend has a Predator Pursuit that shoots circles around another of his friend's Wilson Combat. The WC was over twice the price of the RRA.

I don't believe that the current DPMS/Bushmasters are as well made as the REAL Windham Bushmasters.
