Looking at the pictures of Springfield Armory's Mil-Spec 1911s (here's an example: http://springfield-armory.com/images/pistols/a1/PB9108L.jpg), it looks like the frame is parkerized a different color than the slide, which usually denotes an alloy frame. Given that the Mil-Spec seems kind of on the light side for a 1911 (35.6 oz. compared to 38 oz. I've seen for other models) I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether or not the Mil-Spec has an alloy frame.
