DPMS "Tuber"

Came across this last night and it struck me as very very odd, does anyone have experience with these rifles?

It is just an extended handguard, I would expect it to shoot as well as DPMS' other ARs. I think it looks kind of cool, and in Illinois that's as close as I could get to a suppressor.
