I'm a big fan of CZ and have several. I'm now researching and contemplating a EAA Witness 10mm. I own a G20 10mm and like the round.

Are there any significant differences between the CZ and the EAA Witness? As far as I can tell they are exact copies.

CZ's aren't too expensive. Why get a copy?

AFAIK the Witness is a clone of the 75.

For that matter have never seen a 10mm CZ or I might have bought one.
I have a 40 and a 9 but no 10...they do make a 45...but not in the 75...
they are fine weapons...the Tanfoglios are allright...but not up to CZ
fit and finish quality...I might get a Witness for a truck gun...

the EAA Witness...I would get one for a truck gun...but the fit and finish is
not on a par with CZ quality.....

The CZ and Tanfoglio/EAA Witness are very similar, but still have significant differences in the fine details.
Most parts will not interchange, nor magazines on most models.

The Tanfoglio/EAA Witness is actually driving most of the design enhancements and is a very good, durable, accurate gun, but the CZ is better quality.

The EAA is a "Best buy" in auto pistols due to value for the dollar.

I like the fact that the Witness guns let you rack the slide with the hammer back and safety on for loading and un-loading (CZ safety blocks the slide).

Overall the CZ are better made, I've had mixed results with the Witness-P guns, the Witness steel frame guns seem better.

I doubt you will find worse customer support that with EAA, but the Witness is the cheapest way to get into 10mm, which counts as 10mm ammo is not common and rather expensive when you find it. For reloading, I can't think of a worse choice than a 10mm auto as they seem to generally launch the brass into orbit.

Look around for a used model of either gun. Both are good guns, with the edge going to CZ, generally -- but you can stumble onto some great deals in used Witnesses, with great triggers.

The nice thing about the Witnesses is that caliber conversion kits are available, and in the older models (smaller frames) you could swap barrels between the 9mm and .40 models without having to change ANYTHING else.

The newer models (which have a larger frame) take separate top ends for most models, but are available in .22, 9mm, .40, .45, and 10mm. (I think you can find a .38 super for both styles.)

I've had a number of BOTH types, and liked them all. Don't have any Witnesses at the moment, but wouldn't hesitate to buy another, if the right deal or trade presented itself.

I like the tang on the witness better than the CZ. I have big hands and that short stubby tang on the cz digs into the web of my hand during extended range sessions. The CZ finish is much better than the witness I owned. Both are good for the money.

if you thinking about eaa check out their new zastava ez looks damn good, now i just which i knew where to find one.
