You need only use the search function to find

no, you do not. I don't know what is wrong with it, but the search function on THR absolutely doesn't work right

The other day I was searching for something and in my frustration I put in 5.56 and got no results.

I could go on with other bizzare results, but I shall obstain

I too can't get THR's search function to work right...

Ammo companies like Corbon and Federal have been making lead-free copper bullets for years. You don't need expensive materials to make bullets that work... if you want it to puncture armor, maybe, but not if you're the average civilian.

I'm actually really in favor of green ammo. I hate to think of how much lead and other toxins I have inhaled or handled since I started shooting as a kid. I've noticed more "clean shooting" and lead-free ammo sprouting up through the years, and it's a trend I'd to see continue.

...murcury free primers...

Mercury has not been used in primers for many years.

Mercury fulminate was one of the earliest priming compounds, but it alloys with brass cases and weakens them.

'Corrosive primers' used potassium chlorate and left hygroscopic chlorate in the barrel. Moisture was absorbed, dissolved the chlorate and caused damage.

Non-corrosive primers use lead styphanate as the 'active ingredient'.

Newer green primers are heavy metal free.
