My CZ 85B has developed an issue failing to extract. It has 1,214 rounds fired through it (yes, I wrote Gun Log so I do know the round count), and has never had any springs changed.

Description:
Fired case has about 1/4" still in the chamber (didn't fully extract or maybe it didn't eject and it just happens to partially go back into the chamber), next round in mag is putting pressure on case not extracted and pushing it up slightly and therefore the slide hangs on it.

It has done this 6 times now, and each time exactly the same.

I have visually inspected the extractor and it looks good, but I need to compare it to another to make sure. The extractor spring feels very strong as I push on the extractor and rock it in and out.

I have not inspected the ejector.

I don't know if a weakened recoil spring will cause such malfunctions.

If anyone has experienced this, please share what you have learned.

p.s. Just had a chance to clean and inspect. Ejector looks fine, extractor looks fine, I am thinking recoil spring.

I found this video, in which is described the same issue I am having.

I think I will pull out the extractor and see if it is gunked up. I do run this gun fairly wet and that may have caused some issues.

New extractor. Nuff said. Did a Pre B 75 last year, complete rebuild and all new parts from CGW. It started doing the same thing. Replaced the original extractor, its now flawless.

I took the extractor out and cleaned out a lot of gunk and put it back together. I will get to a range hopefully within a month. It was so easy to do. If that doesn't help I will order a new parts and fix it up.

My pre-B had failures to extract.
CZ had quit sending free replacements, they had so many people claiming failures to get free spares. But an extractor and spring were then only $13 and fixed it right up. Probably a good bit more now.
A Wolf +25% spring might be enough.
