I finally decided on an AR. :D After reading over others opinions and suggestions, I got a Spike's Tactical Desert Spider. Its a 14in. fluted heavy barrel with a pinned and welded flash hider. Magpul furniture, Tango Down stubby grip, Aimpoint Micro, and a Night Hunter flashlight.

The bolt and barrel are both HPT and MPI.
The receiver has markings for full auto, but it's semi.
It came with a really high quality case from Spike's Tactical.
I won't be able to shoot it for a couple of weeks, but I'll DEFINITELY be fondling it until then. So far, I'm really impressed with the rifle's overall quality and fit and finish. I was going to get an LWRC M6A2, but I got a smoking deal on this rifle, so I went for it.
Me being new to ARs, do you guys have any helpful tips or hints for me to use/keep in mind while using this rifle?

Go to youtube or a buddy and learn how to clean and field strip your new weapon. Learn where and why you lube the weapon while you are waiting these next few weeks to shoot it. Congrats on your purchase and hope you have a blast!

AR15.com has great thread tutorials and Brownells has great video tutorials.

Shoot it for a while before buying accessories. As you shoot it and learn, you'll figure out what you want.

It sounds like a real nice AR. Pics or it didn't happen.

Congrats! Sounds like you got a great piece of hardware there. But be careful! I got my first last fall and it has just multiplied - as of last night there are parts being sent my way to make another

As far as tips, once you are familiar with field stripping it (one afternoon) and the controls (you probably are already) buy a sling and few mags and go here: http://appleseedinfo.org/

run about 500 rounds of Good Quality 5.56 through it before you try the cheap stuff. When New, the rifle is going to be a bit 'stiff' and will run best with full power brass cased ammo.

Strip it, clean it, lube it before shooting it the first time. Slather every surface with CLP, let it sit in the sun or a warm place till it's good and warm, then wipe it dry with diapers. Actual cloth diapers- not huggies.

Natural Point of Aim. Cheek Weld. Sight picture. Breath Control. Trigger Control. Shoot 5 rounds per target. Keep track of how many rounds you shoot each range trip. Learn to use a 1907 Sling. SHort load your mags- 5 or ten rounds, and take a break between strings.

Heres the first look. The images are reversed because I had to use my computers camera. When I get a new SD card for my camera I'll be uploading some high quality pics.
