Still got a couple of those here for us Arkies...you know we don't get off the porch much anyways. There's one up a few miles north of me that's a "Pharmacy, Florist, and Gunshop", then back in northeast Arkansas just outside of town where I went to college, there's a Harvest foods that puts Gander Mountain to shame! Better milsurp, blackpowder, new gun, used gun, ammo selection AND prices than I've ever seen there. And of course being run by good ole' boys, these fellers usually know what the heck they are talkin about.
The only thing I ever hear outta those fellas is "anything you'd like to see" and "if you don't see it, we can probably order it and have it in a few days". It's a long drive for me, but I still make the trip just because of the service once every couple of months.
If they had a range, I'd be broke from the cost of gas...
Never seen a grocery store in my area selling ammo; but it sounds like a
dang good idea~! I distinctly remember a few year's back (in the mid 70's),
when anti-freeze was hard too get; this one independent grocery store
had 500 cases of it. Now, if we could get him too see the light on ammo~!
Texas rebel 1980, the Bottle Stop DOES have a drive through window, on the other side. I pass this store going to work every day. Always wanted to go order a 40 and a .40.
We have 3 grocery stores in town and this one is the only one with ammo. The first rifle I ever shot was my dads .22 that was from a coast-to-coast store. Last time I was to his home town the store wasnt even there anymore.
