Hi Guys,

Am considering getting a full sized Glock in the future however I am bugged out about one trait that seems to manifest in ALL glocks that I have ever rented.

:cuss: Everything I pull the trigger, the ejected round almost always flies back into my face, eyes or bounces off the top of my head. This is :fire: irritating and I wonder whether you Glock owners also see this in your pistols.

Could this be a problem only with rental glocks that have had the tar shot out of them?

Can any of you guys report that you've sent at least 17,000 rounds through your glock without mechanical problems?

Ive heard of people having this problem, I used to have a Glock 19 3rd gen and fired it for hours on end and never got a case in the face. My uncle's glock ive fired a Glock 22 2nd gen, ive shot it and have gotten a case in the face. Maybe it has some thing to do with the ejectors in the 2nd and 3rd gen glocks. Not sure though just a thought. But what i did to treat the problem on my uncle's 40 i just tilted the gun slightly sideways so the rounds would eject over my shoulder rather then in my face. But my shots weren't as accurate because of it. :cuss:

i took mine to a Glock armorer and he replaced the extractor... or was it the ejector? It was that rigid spike thingey that protrudes just above the magazine opposite the opening.:scrutiny: Problem fixed.

Sounds like an ejector problem. Have a Glock armorer either adjust the angle of your existing ejector, or replace it with a new one, and that should cure it.

How many are we talking about here? If it's on all of them, most likely you were doing some girlieman hold on the gun.
If it's just one, could be the ejector as I had the same problem with my Glock 21 ejector after shooting a case of Wolf ammo. Ejector replaced, no more problem, and no more shooting Wolf ammo. :)

Hot Case In The Face!

It happens on MOST all of the Auto's I own and shoot! I wonder if its sometimes a odd round or the case might have a Nick or the Rim might be a little Different? And i ONLY shoot factoy loaded ammo. NO RELOADS!

And I see NO More Rounds in the Face from a My Glocks than I do My Colt 1911's or My Other semi Auto's. My HK's USP's, Bersa 45, S&W 10mm's, ETC ETC all of them will spit a odd case torwards the head.

And I try to all ways were a T-Shirt at the range, I get tired of my WIFE complaining that she found a spent round or two in the washer, after I wore a dress type shirt to the range. No matter how many times I think I emptied my Front Pocket, a spent round or two ends up in the washer.

And after a LONG day at the range, I have found spent shells in my Front and Back Pant's Pockets. Its kind'a funny to reach for change at a drive in market, and pull out a couple of spent shells! I get funny Looks from Ali the Clerk!

Its just part of shooting a Auto!

ALL WAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION! No matter what you shoot!

I've seen this before but w/ a 1911 clone. The extractor bottom edge of the extractor's "tooth" (proper terminology?) was chipped. The chipped extractor altered the path of the spent casings. It took a very careful inspection to find the problem.

Weak Ammo and Weak Wrist

Hi all,

I can attest that weak ammo will cause head-bonks from both my Glock 21 and my Glock 30.

I had made up a *very* light 45 ACP load for instructional purposes with my daughter. They worked fine for her, but for me I'd catch nearly every round right on the top of the head.

When I moved to load to 4.5gr Bullseye the shells landed in a neat pile to the right.

Could be a number of things weak ammo ejector extractor wore otu since its range gun limp wrist etc etc

i have a G-17 and G-20 neither have thrown the brass at me unless it was bouncing back off the range divider wall

The early Glock 17's (pre-1992) had a straight ejector which could be the source of the problem. Later Glocks had a slightly bent ejector which should clear it up. An ejector can be easily replaced for a nominal fee.

The early ejectors were coated with a black material. The older ejectors are bright nickel colored. You can use that for ID purposes.

As another option, if you are handy with tools, take a file and put a very slight chamfer on the inside top corner of the ejector. A couple of strokes. Maybe a 30 deg angle. As the empty cartridge 'rolls' off the chamfered ejector if should pass over your right shoulder.

Again, ejectors are cheap.

Good luck.

My G17 (1990 manufacture) never gives me that problem, but it does to my wife whenever she shoots it. In her case it's due to her grip - she has small hands and a difficult time getting them around the grip on that particular pistol.

I have 2 Glocks one 19 and one 26 and never a problem even after over 3000 rounds through my 19.My police officer buddy said his .40 cal will do that sometimes. I don't know if it's an ammo thing or a gun thing. My Gold Cup does it some also.

God Bless

My G17 does it occasionally when using lighter\low-powered loads. When using Speer Lawman, Gold Dots, Nato FMJ, etc. The cases go off to the right pretty far. Last time I went shooting, a friend had some "remanufactured" ammo (don't recall the brand, came in a clear plastic box) and the cases were smackin me in the head quite regularly. I thought I had an ejector problem but the part looked fine. Switched to some Nato ammo and the problem went away.
