For the life of me I cannot find some low priced grips that I like for my SW 10 snubbie. I bought a abused pair of wood ones and painted them black, but the paint could not overcome the abuse. Next I ordered some Pachmyers from CTD but they were huge. Any pointers on getting away from the pearl handles? I just want a basic black plastic look that is the same size as the pearls that are on it now. Thanks!

Thanks for the links...but $50 and $100 is way out of my price range for grips. The Pachmyers were $16. Got any other links?

If you sold me the pearl handles, you would have more money for new grips, though.:)

try: smith-wessonforum.com and go to the accesories for sale area. I see plenty of nice grips for sale on there all the time!

Call me nuts...but I am not spending $40-$50 bucks for grips on a CCW. I got the gun for $250.

Factory magnas. Should be able to find a good pair for $25. Also, just curious, why do they have to be black?

"...I ordered some Pachmyers..." Which Pachmayr's? They do sell different sizes.
"...that is the same size as..." They fit your hand?

Jay Scott fake pearls were made with a dark wood backing that showed around the edge of the "pearl."

Handgun stocks have gotten ridiculous in price. A set for an N frame made before 1940 can cost $600. Decent Python stocks will now go for $250+. Given your budget you might want to just get a set of standard Magnas but they won't be black. The good news is that you need square butt K frames stocks which are the easiest to find.

These are the early style (pre-1968) with the diamonds. Later ones (about the same except no diamonds) can be found for $15-$30.

There are some black grips of buffalo horn (like these on an N frame) or fake "black pearl" and you can find them on ebay. They won't be checkered if you prefer having that feature.

OK. So I am Nuts! I am fine with that. I am habitually cheap. No, they dont have to be black...but I would like that look. I feel like I look like an extra on Chico and the Man when I carry this gun!
