Where do you live in CT? There is a gunsmith near me that comes highly recommended by others. I have not needed his services yet. Here is the info:

I am in Huntington, so Fairfield is very close. Thanks for the info, I will give him a call.

Joesph's Gun Shop in New Britain is very reputable. Does good work. The biggest problem is because he does a lot of work for the State and Local Police Depts. his lead times can get out there.

Joesph's Gun Shop
363 South Main Street
New Britain, Ct. 06051

Take Care

I came to this site looking for a good gunsmith in Ct. Pardon the play but i am some what gun shy after a terrible experience with a New Britain based smith recommended here. The brother of the owner took my order, I assume did the work and loused up two guns and ruined a third.
The machine work dine on a 1911 was good, just not what I asked for.
Work on a Gold Cup was so so. What was done to a S&W revolver is hard to explain. Suffice to say the gun would not fire after a poor attempt to do not what I asked for. All told, not counting the loss of value to the guns after the work, I was out BIG money for what was done. I signed on here to warn people to be real specific when discussing work & do not deal with the brother under any circumstances. I have friends who have had continuing success dealing at this shop. I did not . WM
