Good price on an ANIB S&W 646?

Anyone got an estimate for an ANIB/lightly used 646 .40 without an internal lock?

Is it from the first run with the slab-sided barrel and half-lug, or the second run with the barrel and lug like a 686?

It's the second series, basically a .40 686.

$350 would be a good price for me but they tend to go around $450 to $600plus

These revolvers are quite rare, so I expect the prices will begin to go up on them in the upcoming years.

Only 400 of the Performance Center revolvers were made. Then, a single run of 700 standard line S&W Model 646 revolvers were made. They looked like 686s.

So . . . there are only 1,100 on the planet! All are "L" frame revolvers, and they are very, very accurate.

For what it's worth, lots of people who used the first version in competitions had problems with them. I haven't heard of anyone with any problems with the second version, for whatever reason.

I would expect to pay $500-550.00 for a NIB one. Less than that would be great. Mine is the only .40 I've ever liked.
