Saw a Ruger GP100 4" Blue with fixed sights in a shop. Is this something new from Ruger? I have never seen a GP100 with fixed sights except in the three inch. This was particularly tempting.

Interesting, I bought one with fixed sights, 4" bbl and half lug a few years back, but it was discontinued. Did that one have a half or full lug?

But no mention of it as an option as you get further into the site.

I found one last year that was double action only. It was a full lug 4 inch.

I have a blued 4" GP100 with a full lug, fixed sights, small grip and chambered in .38 special. The place I bought it from obtained over 200 from a canceled overseas police order. They kept a few for sale in their store and shipped the rest to SOG. Mine was made in 2005 based on the fired cartridge case that came with the gun. Real overkill for the .38 special.
I recently had acquired the following fixed sight 4", half-lug barrel, .357 GP100. The first two pictures are with the original small Ruger grips. The second group of pictures show this GP100 with the full size factory Ruger grips which I had installed right after buying this gun:

Nice, Slick6 - I have the stainless model and I didn't know you could swap out the grips for bigger ones. Mine are pretty chewed up, so I know one thing that's going on the Christmas list!
I really like the half lug look better. Back OT, mine also has fixed sights.

2)I was originally searching for a stainless half-lug fixed sight 4" GP100 like yours. However, These half-lug GP100's are hard to find-whether they are blue or stainless-although the blues are much more scarce. Then, recently I finally found the blue 4" GP100 pictured above and I jumped at it-because I favor these fixed sight 4" GP-100's-since they not only look better than the adjustable sighted GP-100's, they also are four ounces lighter in weight(Easier handling)!
3)Yes, the larger, full sized Ruger rubber grips will directly fit these GP100's that came with the shorter round butt Ruger Rubber grips!
