Listening to Glenn Beck the other day, and had to laugh when he read an advertisement for Cheaper than Dirt. He went on and on about what a great business they are, how they are standing up for the 2nd Amendment, ect.

Yeah, I happen to catch that. Made my drive more humorous. :)

I'm sort of a Beck fan, mostly based on his love of and advocacy for personal freedom and liberty. I've never met anyone with whom I agree on every detail of that, and I never will.

For something to be truly funny there needs to be a good amount of truth in it. Which explains why I choked on my coffee reading Sam1911's post.

GB is a love/hate entertainment source for me too. Come to think of it beatledog7 has it right. Love/hate for entertainers across the board. I did get an ad in the email from CTD recently. The prices for some ammo were OK, but I won't buy from them again. That's going to really sting them. I've only purchased from them 1 time during their existence.

Echo that, forget CTD; Back goes off the ranch quite a but but I think, much like a child, he has no filter and discernment isn't his strongest suit.

What ever is said negative about Beck, I can say the same twice over about whoever one's fav talk radio show host is.

Don't be bashful. who are your favorite talk show hosts?

who are your favorite talk show hosts?
None. Can't stand such things. They all seem to suffer from an irrational belief that others want to listen to them. And some fools seem to be willing to reinforce that belief.

Few truly important concepts can be comprehensively explained through such formats, so we're left with two sides of an issue using hyperbole and ridicule, bombast and vitriol, to try and herd their flocks into one corner of the ring or the other. Disguising nominal philosophical theory alignment for actual thought, and volume for enlightenment.

It is hardly more palatable to listen to "our" side engage in such behavior than it is to tune into the drivel put out by the "other" side. And then folks are SHOCKED when one of "our" talking heads doesn't understand or "get" our view of an issue we thought he'd support just because he's a self-declared conservative.

It's all brain rot, mental junk food -- just pick your preferred flavor.

When I'm working in my shop and get tired of music, I do listen.

Beck is actually a local guy here. I want to agree with him. He's just a little nuts.

Medved is probably my favorite, and generally he is pro-Constitution and 2nd, but he says some odd things like the 2nd Amendment doesn't protect interstate sales of firearms. Technically the 2nd Amendment does not mention such matters, but.....the RKBA and other clauses can be combined.

"Glenn at least owns guns.

He should know better. Maybe with enough money endorsements mean nothing"

or more than likely only has guns because of all the nut jobs that want to see him gone. So being kind of busy with his daily radio show, etc, and not knowing much about the gun market doesn't follow the gun culture in the last few months. CTD could have made this deal with Beck Months ago before they were even thought of as scum bags.

So if you don't listen to him or any, how would you know they are bad? ;)

Just because I don't tune in doesn't mean I don't look into popular personalities whose names come up frequently. I've yet to be very happy that I did.

GB is with us on 2A. His book selection would also be pretty good for kids to help counter the usual liberal swill they are brainwashed with regarding the founders etc.

there is a cheaper than dirt advertisement on THIS website. The difference is that this website is tolerable compared to GB.
That is funny right there. The THR may be many things, but tolerable is not one of them, they are a benign dictatorship, the THR way, or the highway. And that is exactly the way it has to be, otherwise the THR would turn into naught but chaotic bedlam

CTD also avertises on Beck's TV program The Blaze. (channel 212 on Dish Network)

Cigar Dave !

My favorite talk show hosts are Cigar Dave and Grisham, they tell it like it is and they know their subject and neither of them would stick their foot in their mouth like Coumo did with his shrill "you dont need a 10 round mag in an assault rifle to hunt deer".

Cannot tell in words printable how annoyed that made me = REALLY.

He did not ask anyone if it was legal or possible [ and done by myself ] to hunt deer in HIS state with an M-4/AR-15 platform rifle.

The answer is YES,so I appreciate those talk show hosts that do research and happen to be conservative by chance :D.

but tolerable is not one of them
He didn't say "tolerant," he said "tolerable." Meaning, "able to be tolerated." He was just saying he likes it here and doesn't like it there.

they are a benign dictatorship
More correctly, an oligarchy. There is no one ruler, but a committee of peers who decide major issues and policies. :)

I cringe a little when he calls himself a Libertarian. He may be a "libertarian-leaning" Conservative, but he is still clearly a Conservative. He's also one of these guys who thinks Conservative = Libertarian. They are separated by very different philosophical premises. A little frustrating. LOL

They're a sponsor. That's his job. Need to remember that about endorsements and "reviews."

I find Beck a little whiney for my taste. There is always some crisis, which he saw coming but nobody else did, yadda, yadda, yadda. I no longer listen to him, and it doesnt surprise me in the least that he would make such a statement and believe it himself.
