A bystander at a gun show was injured Sunday when a rifle fired and the bullet ricocheted off the floor, striking him in the leg.
The victim in the shooting was at the Ernie Bean Great Southern Gun and Knife Show at the Mississippi Trade Mart.
50-year-old William Roy Clary was treated at University Medical Center and released. Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin says the shooting appeared to be accidental, and nothing illegal occurred.
"That's strictly a matter for, you know, for who's ever operating the gun and knife show to make sure that weapons are cleared at the door before they enter," said McMillin.
No charges will be filed against organizers of the show, which ended Sunday.
