Not sure what the hassle is about. Gun safety is gun safety is gun safety. Doesn't matter where you are or how much or little you handle your gun. Follow the %$#$@ rules.
As for carry in gun shows I blame the suits. Liability insurance has got to be off the charts expensive, and would be prohibitively so if the promoter allowed loaded firearms on the premises.
And as another pointed out with the Arizona gun show incident, the stakes are very high. And the higher the stakes, the stricter and more careful we must be. Any ND at a show can have serious repercussions, maybe even to the point of closing down a show series or new anti-gun legislation. Uh oh... hope no antis are reading this.
