Fin Feather fur operates about 5 gun shops throughout the state and some are housed in old K marts so they are big shops. They announced today for the safety of their employees they will be closing down until further notice. They announced anyone on hold for a firearm will have to come back when they re open. I also heard another gun shop closed due to the virus.

I have never had so much respect for a company than I do now. My company has 10 people out with 2 being tested for the virus and we are told come to work. Literally 50-60 people daily like nothing is going on. I see a ton of other gun shops big and small saying come on in we have ammo and guns. Cabela's is jam packed every single day since this started. Anyone else's gun shops closing up? During the time when they could be getting big bucks they closed.

My LGS has been closed all week. I don't know exactly when they decided to close, but I rode by first on Tuesday and they had signs up saying they were closed due to COVID-19.

Do not know how valid the info is, but I stopped in a shop earlier today and the guy was saying that Vance's had also closed. I understand the LGS trying to keep the lights on as long as possible though. Not sure how it works, but thinking it may be difficult to draw unemployment if you lay yourself off?

I wonder how Fin will handle it seeing how its a employee owned company. They have one store that's 3 floors and employs probably 50-60 people if not more. Even during the week days they are packed and people come from all over because prices are great, customer service is great, ammo is cheap and plentiful.

When I saw they were closing and another one closed I thought damn, they must not care about money.

No doubt. I'd never been in one until last Sunday as they're not this far south into Ohio. The guys I talked to at the Milan location were super nice and seemed knowledgeable. Sort of lamenting how they'd been run in circles the previous few days though. Seemed like a place I'd wanna shop if they had any nearby.

Don't know what's happening to the one I visit down in Illinois as the Governor just closed the State. Only essential businesses are to open. Imagine Evers will be doing the same here in Wisconsin soon. We are now in a Full Blown Panic.

Once again I was just curious if gun shops around you are closing. One large shop posted on Facebook shortly after fin said they were closing and they said we aren’t closing and have everything you need. Shows a lot of character for fin feather fur to close when they could subsequently make the same amount of money in a month than they could all year.

So question on “delays”. I have never been delayed on a gun so what does this mean? I’ve always been in and out in 30-45min. Must suck to have the cash in hand and be told come back in a month for your gun.

I've been to 3 LGS this week. All open and busy, 2 were wall to wall people. The other was a small store and the door said it was a limit of 4 ppl at a time during this time. They didn't have a lot of stock being a small store and only 1 guy there working. Hopefully my normal store is open still when UPS finally ships my .40 cal

My best LGS closed today. No message. Not sure when they’ll reopen.

I’m sure shops may not have a choice if goberment can’t keep enough people working on background checks, saw the applications where up 300%. Not sure where they do the background checks, but guessing big city where they are hardest hit with flu.

I live in Southern California. Most gun stores around me literally only have guns for sale that are $1600 and higher in price. Since the Governor made his last edict I am sure some are closed now but a couple of days ago there were guys lined up waiting their turn to enter the gun and ammo stores.

Yesterday, I decided to go ahead and look into purchasing another handgun just to help my LGS with a sale. I was interested in a Glock 20SF or maybe another revolver (depending on what was available).
I guess my thinking was off. They literally sold every gun in their store. They only have a few high end custom 1911 pistols that I wouldn’t be interested in.

Same goes for other stores in my area.

Here is another one for you guys. Following their Facebook page a very small handful of people are saying they already paid for guns and the background was put on delay. How’s that work? I have never once paid for a firearm and then had a background check. I also saw several posts saying they refused to sell AR15 to people. Now the guy was a loud mouth talking about he needed protection when quarantine comes. I wonder if he didn’t say something stupid in the store and they denied him.

Actually, they're done in the state that has fewer cases than any other state in the US. West Virginia. My wife's cousin works for the FBI doing NICS checks there.

The governor here closed all nonessential businesses, told all to stay home, the city of binghamton mayor has set a curfew of 10 o'clock for all.

My thinking g is that lbs is essential to keep open so citizens are better able to protect themselves.

To my thinking, as usual, the govt did things backwards again, faced with large scale unemployment, they should have frozen prices prior to large scale layoffs and provided severe punishments for all price gougers.

Most of the problem in NY is centered in NYC. So closing the whole state may be premature.

I picked up a new M&P9 last Wednesday and was a bit concerned about a NICS wait, FFL just xeroxed DL and CHL and away I went. I was against that law change but now I’m a fan.;)

my LGS on thier facebook page, will just be closing about 2 hours earlier (2 nights a week) and remain opening at thier normal times.

Unfortunately Illinois' gun dealer licensing and rules laws have cost us at least half of the shops that were open a year ago. Just going to get worse in a state where both sides of the General Assembly, the Governor, and majority of the courts are Democrats. And, all pretty much controlled by Chicago lefties.

One of my local shops closed for 3 days as they had NOTHING left to sell.............Pretty wild out there now. Figure it will be this way till after the election as we roll from this panic to the election run up one.
