Gun stores closing.

I live in Southern California. Most gun stores around me literally only have guns for sale that are $1600 and higher in price. Since the Governor made his last edict I am sure some are closed now but a couple of days ago there were guys lined up waiting their turn to enter the gun and ammo stores.

Yesterday, I decided to go ahead and look into purchasing another handgun just to help my LGS with a sale. I was interested in a Glock 20SF or maybe another revolver (depending on what was available).
I guess my thinking was off. They literally sold every gun in their store. They only have a few high end custom 1911 pistols that I wouldn’t be interested in.

Same goes for other stores in my area.

People in "my" shop were buying absolutely anything that would chamber a round...from .22 and .25 junk to old 12ga. single shots...and EVERYTHING in between. We tried to keep at least one box of ammo for every gun, but that got tough in a few calibers.

Well another bit the dust today. The store I was telling everyone about Lake Erie Arms keeps saying they are glad they are an essential business and that they are still open and have plenty of ammo. I have never been in there because it seems to be just a big AR/operator wanna be fest, but I have never been there and thought about going. Well not after taking advantage of people during a time of panic.

On a crazier note. It seems that the criminals are taking advantage of the COVID virus. I was working my grocery store gig last night and walked up front from the back breakroom and was notified by customers two guys were in the parking lot shooting at each other. I guess someone robbed the dollar store across the road and was wearing a surgical mask. Things are getting crazy.

Oldest son ventured out to the grocery yesterday. The number of people open carrying was pretty amazing(he EDC), Broomfield CO, legal...shelves pretty well stocked, no problem. BUT, it's still gonna get worse before it gets 'better', whatever that means. BUT, open carry legal w/o a license..so I suspect these people don't have a EDC license.

LGS' closed around here.

FFGCOLORADO:
Yesterday I saw a big 'Dude" (wink) walk out of a Cordova TN gun store, as he smoothly pushed what looked like a 'baby' Uzi, or old Broomhandle-Styled 'handgun' under his belt at 1:00. The mag had been inserted.

I've never seen anything like this behavior before, but to be quite frank, this is one of the many reasons we don't live near people like that.

WA governor Jay Inslee, failed Democratic candidate for President and notorious gun-grabber, just shut down all non-essential businesses in the state. Pot shops were specifically listed as critical but gun shops were not.

Now, there are stores in the state that sell home improvement supplies, which are listed as essential, and sell guns and ammo. So, citizens should still be able to buy ammo and firearms at those locations. Unfortunately, no such stores exist in my area of WA. Fortunately, I'm a mile from the Idaho border and there is one gun shop 15 miles away. I also stocked up the past few months so am fine, but those that have failed to prepare are quickly running out of options.
