I did a search and didn't find anything related to Gunstock. I know THR will be well represented.

I just got back from the RSO training for Gunstock and will be working the line there. From what I saw Saturday, this should be a safe and well run event. Promises to be a very good time. They are going to have a "shoot house" set up on location as well as a number of other fun activities.

If you are in Texas, you better have a good excuse for NOT showing up! ;)
 
I'll be crying the whole weekend, but I would be able to make the roadie.

Hopefully some of you that are blessed to go will take tons of pictures and post them here for us unfortunate souls.

Seriously, though... I can't believe we don't have more TX THR folks heading to Waco.... Anyone in H-Town interested in a road-trip?

This is the first big post-sunset event in TX and should be a hoot with all those Evil Black Rifles floating around....:D
 
I get to Abilene on Sunday for a Monday class.

Expedia is showing it 4 hours from Abilene. Is that so? I might have to leave here on Friday and hang out there in Waco on Sat/Sun.

I'd love to go, but unfortunately all of my extra funds are tied up into my deer hunt the next weekend. That 25 bucks each would put a dent in my food allowance and if any of you saw me, you'd know that you just can't mess with this mans food. :D
 
Lennyjoe, 4 hours sounds about right. I'll be camping on site and I'm sure we'll all have lots of spare room to put you up if you can make it.
 
I think Im gonna leave here (Tucson) on Friday morning. That should put me there late Friday eve. Gives me Saturday and some of Sunday to hang around.

Heck yea, I would love to join in on the fun. Suggestions on what to bring. Remember, Im coming from another state;)

You can help me assemble the "No Ban" parts I plan to pick up there. We can build us an M4 by Coleman light.
 
Argh! I have plans that weekend! I wouldn't be able to afford it right now anyway... there's always next year.

Also, whats the plan on sleepin quarters? Camping or Hotels.

Lemme know so I can book a room if need be. Guess I need to bring the AR-15 so I can get a supressor put on her.
 
I registered online. $65 gets you in all three days, plus a t-shirt, plus dinner on Saturday and 3 raffle tickets. If you buy at the door it's $25/day just to get in. Even if you are coming for two days you will be better off pre-registering.

I'm camping on-site and have a big honkin' tent, so if you need to stay dry I think we've got you covered. If you have room to pack your own tent, all the better. There are a lot of nearby hotels if you would prefer that route. I think Thumper is planning to camp too. To me camping will be about half the fun of this. Sitting around the campfire swapping lies.... :D
 
Good chance of rain, current forecast has it clearing up though. Either way expect a mudbog. We've had lots of rain the last week. Ground is totally saturated.

My attendance is up in the air at this point. B-I-L is getting married Halloween eve, and there seems to be a non-stop list of things I am being required to do and go to between now and then.

I did a little dove busting last month in your neck of the woods and Bosque County really is God's country.

Hanging out around perfectly clear blue water running through rocky draws encrusted in cactus will add years to your life.
 
Heck, if I got the opportunity to take home a porker I'd stay the following weekend after the class in Abeline.

Quail comes in tomorrow here so I'll be out beating the brush this weekend.

I'm trying to figure out if this is worth going to. I've never been and the description on the page isn't real clear. Is this like a shooting event where you have to shoot or is it like a gun show with shooting attractions? I was supposed t go to Waco this weekend to visit a friend there and I'm interested in this but I'd like to know what I'm spending $25 on first.
