Handgun scope Qs

I'm looking for a scope to put on my 686. Does anyone have any experience with the Millet Buck Silver scope?

My budget is limited for this purchase, so I'd like to keep things cheaper if possible, but I don't want something that will break. Will the Millet likely withstand a constant supply of 357 magnum?

The link didn't work for me, so I did a search on Midway for "Millet Buck". Just something to think about...but a variable power scope in a handgun can be VERY hard to keep steady shooting offhand.

I would suggest using a 1x or even 0x red dot. That is what I have on my 686. I use a Tasco PDP3 red dot scope. We've used these on .22's, .223 AR's, my .357, and even a 7mm TCU contender. They will handle the recoil! I've got around 7,000 rounds through my .357 and never had any issue whatsoever.

I don't know if you have purchased a scope mount yet, but I have the Jack Weigand mount. It is CHEAP in price and high in quality. I think I only paid like $30 for it and it fit great!

Don't beleive there is such thing as a 0x red dot. A 1x is the lowest they have, which is no magnification.

Here it is. 686-5, Jack Weigand scope mount, Tasco PDP3 scope. One of my better groups was a 1" cylinder full at 25 yards OFFHAND with 148 gr HBWC .38 specials. I still have that target somewhere. Most of the time I shoot hot 180 grain Hornady XTP's, but am converting to a 180 grain WFN design. I've had zero scope shift, even shooting the heavy loads.

You are correct! There is no such thing as a 0x zoom! Must have been a brain fart.

p.s. The Dropkick Murphys' song "Spicey McHaggis" makes me laugh everytime!

Thanks for the replies. I wound up getting the Millet 2x fixed power scope. I"ll give a report when I get it.
