I am looking for a new stock for my 870P.
I currently have the factory synthetic stock...here is my problem.
Due to the angle of the stock for my firing hand, my trigger finger pulls up rather than straight back.
I would like to find a stock that has a more vertical hand position to allow me to pull the trigger straight back. I would do it with a pistol grip stock, but would prefer a standard style shotgun stock.
Thanks for your help and ideas.

The trigger on an 870 is a crappy design. If you look at the trigger on a Winchester, Beretta, etc., you'll see that it's designed to account for this.

Here's a better solution than changing the stock -- the standard stock is actually pretty good for shooting, unless it flat-out doesn't fit you.

Does the "shoe" just make the trigger larger? How does it help?
I don't have the option of getting a new gun, so I just need to make this one work.
Thanks

The shape of the shoe is different for different existing trigger designs. On a Remington shotgun, AFAIK, it widens the trigger, gives you a more comfortable surface (both make the trigger feel lighter without actually making it unsafe), and it also extends the top of the trigger so that you can pull farther up, comfortably.

I have an 870 and it's not going anywhere either. I haven't ordered one of these yet, but I plan on it.

Here's another company that offers the best variety of shapes, surfaces, and even finishes: http://www.t-grips.com/TriggerShoeHomepage1.html#FQA

They've been at it the longest, I believe. Contact them and I'm sure you can get all your exact questions answered before spending any cash.:)

I couldn't find a picture of the one for an 870, but this is what it looks like on a Savage rifle trigger. Note how it extends the curve at the top.
