Does anyone have the link to the 4 rules of fire arm safety? If so, could they please place a link here? I have a co-worker who would like to learn how to shoot, and I want her to learn and memorize the four basic rules before handleing a gun....

Thanks in advance.

Okay, from Front Sight Firearms Training Institute:

1. EVERY gun is ALWAYS loaded.
2. NEVER let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger OFF the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. ALWAYS be sure of your target.

Hope that helps. :)

Upper right corner of the screen has a link to THR's library. The Four Rules are in there, and a lot of other good stuff too.

Humor me...

When I first started shooting I was taught the following are the 3 rules for proper gun handling by a retired marine:

1) Treat every gun like it's loaded.
2) An unloaded gun is absolutely useless!
3) Since you're treating it like it's loaded -- keep it loaded.

Start with "the four" preached here though for sure.
