I normally don't carry an extra mag, sometimes on an off day I will, but normally I don't. The main reason is because I know I want remember to leave it in my truck when I go to work and then to put it back in my pocket (or whatever) when I leave. Not to mention as many pocket knives as I have lost I would probably get tired of buying $45 mags every month or so. I just need to find a "convenient" way to carry one. It will have to come on and off (my person) easily and still be secure. So I ask how do most of you carry your spare mag, in pocket w/holster, in pocket w/o holster, on belt .......what?

Thanks for your input.

I've got an Uncle Mike's magazine pouch. It is made of plastic. You can slide it on and off your belt.

If I need more than 14 rounds of .45 in town, I need more than an extra mag. On the trail, I use the plastic carrier that came with my XD45 to carry a couple of extras, for a total of 40 rounds on me -- never know when you might get lost and need to signal Search and Rescue.:D

None, when carrying concealed. If I haven't stopped my attacker before the mag is empty, I'm probably going to die anyhow :(

I am leaning toward a mag holder in the belt, probably something like the Galco UDCMC MAG CARRIER

but I prably wouldn't ever tuck it in. What do you like as far as open mag holders vs one that closes with a flap? Also how noticeable do you think they are without the shirt tucked in?

It depends on what pistol I'm carrying that day.
IF it's my .45, then I've got two in a nylon mag pouch with flap in my left back pocket.

If it's my PM9, then it rides in the mag pocket in the belly band, Active Pro Gear Defender.

Slobbery too...

My extra lcp mag goes in my little money pocket on the right side of my jeans above the lcp with the bullet faced to the right. Left handed cross draw and its in the right direction to get tapped and racked.
