Thanks brett30030 , I got it. Works good.:)

Heres a recent picture of my little 22 Short Beretta Minx and it's 100 yard target.
14 rounds. 3 missing:(

Hmm... Lots of photographic talent on the High Road. Someone askes what my favorite handgun is, and thats sort of a hard question to answer, because they are all favorites in some way. Still, overall I would have to say my MkII Target. Its very pleasant to shoot, very accurate, and I shoot it well. Interestingly, I took that pic two weeks ago, and have since added two more handguns to the fold: A Buckmark Camper that I bought back from my buddy and a Taurus 1911 that I just picked up today.

I do my best but the only digital camera in the house is a video camera with some sort of memory card. I get my best results in diffused sunlight, like an overcast day, or florescent light.

Here's a pair of somewhat customized Rugers:

And a Glock 20:

I like picture posts also... but it always makes me want more.

This is a friend's Glock 19 with a Crimson Trace Laser.

This is my latest East German Makarov.
I bought it from a dealer that had it refinish for his personal collection.

And this is a Makarov that spent 24 hours in a freezer.:D
(part of a test of the Makarov's reliability)

Dude. It's from Russia. How is freezing it a test?

:D Good point.
But what I did was to lube it with about three times the necessary (heavy) grease to see if that would make it malfunction.

This was an even better test.:)
(I didn't sink the barrel in the mud because I didn't want to harm the barrel when I shot the mud covered gun)
Here's the whole test for any Makarov fans that haven't seen it.

Just a few of my handguns...

And back to cats....

Had to break out the tripod to stop using the flash. I bought the tripod for the Chrony, of all things....Then i could take cool non flash pictures!

The frozen Mak leads me to the question, Dude did it stick to your hand? That photo is funny for no other reason than the image of some shooter satisfied that the gun passed the test only to note that they can no longer release the gun!

What!? A picture thread and not a single Beretta! I have to change that. Heres a few of them.

Sigh....

Build a cheap lightbox. Don't ever use flash. Get creative.

I know what the words "light" and "box" mean, and I am smart enough to deduce that when the two are used together you have some sort of light-providing box, but I actually had to google what a lightbox does and how one could be constructed on the cheap. I can discourse for hours on subjects like the Crimean War, but a lightbox? That makes me scratch my head. Fascinating.:)

For anyone interested in builiding their own lightbox, here are the instuctions I used. Easy to build and tears down for storage (if you don't glue it!)

Great link Sisco! The one I made is very similar.

A lightbox will make you look like a pro. The lighting is key. The pictures are so clear.

Dr Ken Lunde (lunde on this forum) recently had blown up one of his pictures to 18" x 12". He gave it to me as a gift. I had recently purchased a new HK P2000SK identical to his. He actually photshopped my serial number into the pic. I had it matted and framed. It now resides over my gun bench.

The gun was loaded, including a round in the chamber, so right after the picture I fired it dry.
It didn't stick to my hand but it was cold.:)

Those light box pictures are very nice. That looks like a good project.

Here's another picture of a few.
Being this far away doesn't make for a good picture. I'll have to redo it when I get a chance.
Maybe just group them by brand or caliber.

Thanks for the link to the light box how to Sisco. (said while drooling over the photo of your lever gun)

My cats like to check out my guns anytime they are around. Of course cats do carry their weapons concealed 24/7, so that may be part of their attraction to them.

Here are my most recent ones... forgive the hat hair.

I think it's time that THR had an official contest for best THR photographer. Oleg Volk could be the judge, and the prize could be as simple as bragging rights or a T-shirt or something. I really am truly amazed at how talented some of you guys are!

The lightbox idea is a good one, and I can totally envision my photos being crisper and of better quality using it. I think where talent takes over is composition. Some of you guys just flat out have the ability to envision what a good picture looks like, and some of us don't. Now, that being said, I enjoy looking at peoples guns, so I don't think I have ever seen a "bad" picture. It's just that there are some truly exceptional pictures that have popped up on this thread, and others, and I just don't know that one can learn the innate eye that it takes to compose those photos.
