Ruger .22 Standard Pistol. Anything else, she's just tolerating, including her 9mm.

20 guage pump shotgun shooting clays is fun. But just fun. She has no burn to do it very often.

I would also like to know what kind of guns my wife likes to shoot.

If anyone of you might know, please PM me because she doesn't really seem particularly interested in any of the firearms I own.

I can tell what she doesn't like (her words- not mine):

AR-15s are "boring".
12-ga shotguns kick too much.
Ruger Mark IVs are no fun- too tame.
Forget the 8mm Mauser- see 12ga complaint.

What she seems to like (again, her words- not mine):

Single action .45s are fun.
S&W Mod 19s are "cool" but only .357mag loads.
[Her] 1911 is "awesome".

I don't really mind she doesn't enjoy the ARs- leaves more ammo for me. Now she wants a lever action rifle. I don't know which caliber she is considering.

How weird is this? My wife turned me on to the pleasures of the SKS! She has a really sweet Russian model that she bought when she was stationed in Texas...When we were dating, I was a bit nervous about bringing up guns because some women completely flip out about them, but she was good to go from the start!

Besides her SKS, she has a .357 SP101, but she really likes the .38 special loads better than the full power magnum stuff. She also regularly shoots a Springfield 1911 MilSpec she bought because she liked my Colt 1991A1 so much, and is actually pretty good with it! We've tried IPSC once together, and had a blast...something we'll do more of, and do more of together (though neither one of us is competitive). She regularly warms up with her own Ruger MkI, and I gave her an old .22 bolt rifle I'd had for years that she adores (especially with that scope).

Men--you want to get your woman shooting? Let her shoot a .22 rifle with a scope...The ability to hit anything she puts her little crosshairs on seals the deal, every time.

I still can't outshoot her SKS with my Yugo. It's sort of embarrassing. :uhoh:

My wife shoots a S&W Model 10.
She also likes shooting my Uberti 1875 Outlaw with either 38 spl or .357 mag rounds.
She is not fond of shooting my Star P.D. but prefers revolvers to pistols.

My wife's favorites:

Ruger 10/22 -- she will go through a brick of Wal-mart ammo in a day.

Glock 19-- that's her SD handgun and she does practice with it.

She has no interest in:

Remington 870-- she is concerned about the recoil. I think she would be fine with it using 2 3/4 shells, but I don't push the issue beyond her knowing how the firearm functions.

1911A1-- Again, she has been concerned with recoil. However, I think that she wants to shoot it now. I explained to her that it has a "different" kick that I find more comfortable than the Glock 19.

AR-15-- I didn't realize this, but she WAS equating "looks" with "power." I think that she's always thought that the rifle kicked a lot. Recently, we talked about just how little the rifle kicked and how small the cartridge was. I think she may try it. I hope so-- I've hoped that she'd use that has a go-to rifle and I've made sure that she knew its fuctioning.

LR-308-- I'm OK with her not really wanting to shoot this one. As much work has I've put into it, I don't even like my FATHER playing with it. When people I know handle it, I kinda feel like I am giving them the keys to a "65 Vette Stingray and telling them to "take it around the block."

My LR-308 loves me, too. It tells me every night when I tuck it in.

I would love to buy a gun for my other half but as much as she seems to like shooting she doesnt want one to call her own.

Not my wife yet, but my GF enjoys shooting my Walther PP in 7.65mm (.32 ACP), and my M1 Carbine. Both are mild in recoil, and the carbine fits her better than my Mini's, and it weighs much less. She still refuses to try skeet with a shotgun.

My wife carries an HK USP Compact (LE version - no external safety) in .40 at work and at home carries either a personal USP (bought an identical one from a Fed program) or a Kimber Eclipse Ultra.
