Has anyone on here dealt with Impact guns? if so, how wad your experience. I am planning on ordering a number of items from them because they seem to have the best price of what I am looking for. However, the parts have to be imported and there is a 2-4 week waiting period, not that this is necessarily a bad thing but I like to have stuff coming to me once I have paid for something just for the piece of mind. However, what I am getting is hard enough to come by so I guess I can wait as long as these people are reputable.

I have used them for two smallish (under a $100) orders with good results. They seem to be a good source.

I had difficulty with them, they don't seem to care much about customer relations.

Care to elaborate on this any? The things I plan on buying range in price from $200, $500, $250, etc. So, over the next month or so I would be spending some nice coin with them. After reading and doing some research I have decided not to buy anything from them at all. it is not worth the hassle. I would rather go through someone locally and wait longer to get it then go through all of this. The only problem is the only people I know of besides Impact is importing what I need at the moment so I am not sure that they will be able to help me locally.

Don't count out the local shops. The few extra dollars you spend is worth it IMO for the better service you get. Never hurts to have a working relationship with a salesman either.

I have to agree try the local shops. I've found that they are usually cheaper and even if they cost a little more if you build a good repertoire with a local guy is nice in the long run. They can often find you the harder to get stuff as well, or more to the point they are willing to put more work into finding it then the big guys usually are.

I've bought two guns and some accessories from them with no problems.

The Local shops

I am In Utah and Impact IS one of the local shops. Three stores in 100 miles from me. Lots of Full Auto/ other NFA in stock always and indoor ranges at each location with MG rentals. They are a little arrogant and less than helpful on the phone but one time in the store to see the freaking circus that is going on with gun sales here right now and you will ask yourself how they even answer the phone!

I've shopped their online store, got a good deal on a special run glock package awhile back. Some have trouble determining what is or isn't in stock, and when it will come in, I think the best results are had placing a phone order after shopping online to see what you want. Seems a lot of stuff they sell can be had in a reasonable amount of time, even if not in stock right now, but calling ahead often helps. I wouldn't be worried about buying anything from them, and if they have what you want at the price you want, I say go for it.

I think different shops have different price points for certain things. They may have a good price point on something one day, another online store may have a better deal on any given item another day, and the local shop may be reasonable for some things.

For me, my local shops wanted $100+ or 20% more for the single firearm I bought from Impact that time, which is why I went that route. So I saved over $100 even after FFL fees, etc. Pays to shop around. The last glock was bought from a local FFL who did the other transfer, he offered to sell it to me for $30 over cost and on a tax free holiday, so that time I beat Impact's price going local on a different item.

SilentStalker, I placed an order with them for a Mossberg shotgun. I filled everything out, and waited. Waited some more, two weeks, and I know something shipped from that area takes about five working days. I e-mailed them to inquire if there was a problem.
Ten days later they got back with me via e-mail, they have my phone number, mentioning there was a problem with my credit card, I may have transposed a number, can't remember. Possibly my fault.
I asked how I can correct, do I place another order? Can I change something on my original order?
A week later, they said to just provide the required info through this e-mail.
I'm not a math major, but the time frame was ridiculous.
I told them thanks, but no thanks, and I doubt they would get any business from me in the future.
SO, I inquired at a local store, I got an even better price, and they called within three days to tell me it has arrived. THEN I paid for it. No shipping or transfer fees.

I have since heard similar stories, a long delay in shipping, I'm through with 'em.

They obviously have a track record, or they wouldn't still be in business, tho.

Impact doesn't have the best rep in Utah, at least not amongst the many people I talk to about gun stuff. I am not a fan of Impact and can always find stuff cheaper than what they sell it for anyways.

My favorite Utah gun store is FBMG. It is the only one I walk into and dont get treated like I have a lot of nerve for having even come into their shop. They have all the things I am looking for and what is often lacking in gun store, great knowledge, friendly helpfull service, integrity.

In sum Impact thumbs down FBMG thumbs up. I guess I should encourage you to order from impact since it would go into the Utah economy.

After having bought a few guns (and other items) over the last ten years or so, I've figured out the value of dedicated shops. Price point is not the only concern. A rep that takes an interest in you and can advise you in your purchase is worth a few dollars, as is the ability to examine the actual item you are buying. Add to that the service that must local shops can provide- fixing small problems in used guns, ordering parts if you need them, mounting scopes and sights, and it's usually a wash considering what you actually get. The warehouse operations are fine if you are buying supplies in bulk and the only concern is just getting the item, but I won't buy a gun from one because I know that once my card is processed that's the end of their concern for me.

I also live near an Impact.

They've been nice. Gunsmith fixed an AR jam for me for free. They often have little parts that are hard to find anywhere else, and they're helpful.

Definitely a "tactical" store, but no problems with customer service here in Boise.
