After moving to central Indiana in the fall of 2000, I have yet to find a decent area to hunt during deer season.
I hike in 2 hours before sunrise with night vision. But inevitably have to leave. A number of hunters are just plain rude and stupid in the DNR public hunting areas. After signing in to a particular area and parking your car at the walk in site, some hunters still decide they want to hunt at that particular site and just walk in 10 minutes before sunup.
They are lucky enough that I verify my target before shooting, but that still doesn't mean that I haven't had the business end of my Remington pointed at them.
I have attempted to find landowners willing to allow me to hunt on their lands to the point of cold knocking on doors to solicit permission. Each one has turned me down, stating that they don't allow hunting anymore. They often cite bad hunters as the reasons for their decisions.
I am sure that there are places, publicly or privately owned, to hunt deer. Can anyone help me with finding someplace?
