I have been to Sherwin and Stonewall many times. I used to like them both.
Sherwin I thought would be cheaper once I owned my own gun and stopped renting theirs, since the range fees were per day. Turns out I was wrong. We usually go as a group of three or four guys and split the bill, and it seems to be more expensive. They are adding on to the bill somewhere. I bought my first gun there and got a good deal, not going back.
Stonewall is a better shooting range, but I definently agree with the comments above. They do spend a lot of time talking about garbage. I am currently in the market for a sub compact 9mm for carry, and wanted to look at a couple, but they were too busy talking to help me. Their prices on guns are a bit high too.
I was at Fin Feather and Fur in Ashland recently, didn't know at the time they had a range. I did look at prices. There was a S&W M&P 9mm Sub Compact there about $50 less then anywhere else.
Next weekend I plan on checking out Atwell's in Painseville or A&A's outdoor range in Garrettville, weather permitting.
