Is 380 enough

Obiwan,
LOL well whatever works. But seriously for the vast majority of attackers there is going to be a shock factor when the first round hits them. That may be all it takes. It may not. It makes sense to me to take all the advantage you can of this human tendency, while at the same time minimizing your chances of striking an unintended target, by stressing energy over penetration for the first round or two.

I guess in an ideal world I wouldn't be attacked, but in a less than ideal world, the ideal round would of course be none of the above. It would be a 3.5-inch double-aught buck 12-gauge round. But since the old Mossberg is a little cumbersome for CCW work, sometimes a person needs to compromise.

If you're looking for a fairly hot round in a small package, you might want to check out a Glock 33 in .357 SIG.

Actually I have a G23 that I'm planning to get a .357 SIG barrel for before too long. But for my wife, for now at least, it'll be between the 380,9mm, or a .38 Special revolver.
