I hope this is the right place to post this but could anyone suggest a good IWB Holster for a 4" S&W?
I don't want hard plastic and I see a lot of dual material rigs out there. Seems it would be uncomfortable in various positions.
I have found the Pants pocket (soft) holsters are good for carrying my Chief but the 4" is too big for that style.
Secondly, are the clip-on IWB holsters secure?
Thanks,
ZVP

Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake, with the IWB straps. Also dual use for OWB if you want to.

Durable, looks good, comfortable, and won't break the bank.

Thank me later.

I carry the cross breed tuck-able and love it. You can re-holster and it is very comfortable. And it cancels well.

Maybe not want you are looking for, but my favorite is the VersaCarry. Google that and see what you think. I always believe the IWB was the very best c/c holster, but the VersaCarry holds the weapon tightly against you. Place it under your belt but outside your pants. It will nicely conceal a full size 1911. I see where they even have them now for revolvers. Not sure how that would work.

There's actually a subforum for discussing holsters, but if the mods don't mind neither do I. ;)

Seems like most people who carry full size revolvers in OWB style holsters. I like the Askins Avenger style for my 2.5 inch 386 and a good pancake for my 4 inch 686. I do have an IWB holster for my 4 inch, but it's a Kydex holster so it's not what you are looking for.

If it's if good design and construction. I've only got one IWB clip-on (a N82 for my Glock 36) but it is solid.

the holster store procarry hd with slide guard. i use one that is for a k frame s&w, they also have them for the l frame or j frame. they sell they're holsters on ebay for less than they're web site plus free shipping. i gave $39.95 for mine and i carried today and loved it. if you don't want the slide guard its cheaper but i like the protecting of my blued gun.

Don't go cheap on this. Plan to fork over $50-$80-$100 for a new quality comfortable holster.

Kramer, Milt Sparks, Bianchi, Galco.... Go with all leather, or very durable kydex loops. The springy metal clips fail unless there's a "J" hook.

The basic designs are 1 or two closely or widely placed belt loops. There's advantages and disadvantages of either. Try a bunch on.

Have fun.

i personally like the milt sparks versa max 2

was at one time a holster designed just for long barrel revolvers....carried the weapon with the cylinder above the pant line...only the barrel was in the pants...can't quite remember the name...maybe Kabo holsters or something along those lines

I like leather the best. Kydex and plastic are cool and thin but really uncomfortable for me and I'm still trying to develop an appreciation.

All my holsters are High Noon - I like the quality, the company philosophy, fit, finish and price. The clips keep the holster where I want it and they are leather.

I'm looking for an iwb holster for a xds 9mm 4"" left hand leather ,anyone have a good choice.

I have tried Kydex and all that and just plain prefer leather...have a look at High Noon Holsters and check out their extra pages on fitting and assessment. I use several High Noons and if yer looking for non plastic holsters, well done, and comfortable as well as competitive price wise you need to look at these.

High Noon has great information on how to select and fit, choose and use a holster. I think they make great stuff but the wealth of information on the site is the real value.

I finally decided on MTR custom leather IWB for my 3913. They have quite a few options - I went with the A2 which easily converts to OWB by removing the clips.
