Hey there! First post and in need of help.

I recently bought a Jericho 941 in the .45ACP, and shot my first 50 rounds through it today. The first 10 shot OK, while the other 40 preceded to shoot single shot for every round. The weapon fires, the round ejects, and the slide gets stuck on the hammer. At first I thought it was just the magazine spring being too strong, not allowing the round to be chambered, but after cleaning and further inspection of the pistol I found that the hammer does not lock back far enough and the slide grinds against the top of the hammer. I have to physically push the slide forward past the hammer, at which point the recoil spring finishes the job.

When the hammer is locked back, there is still about 1/4" of movement before it goes all the way back. Does this mean the hammer is faulty? I know the slide has to rub against the hammer slightly to lock it back, but the slide STOPS when I charge it back, even unloaded without a magazine in it. If I reach back and pull the hammer back further, the slide slams forward as it should.

Anyone have this happen to them before? I plan to take it back to the gun store I got it from, as there is supposedly a gun smith that works there. If they won't fix it for me for free and it is too expensive, I will have to let this baby go. Sucks because I only hear great things about this weapon. Why MEEE????

I took it in to the gunsmith and he said it was a weak recoil spring. I'm going to get the recoil reduction spring and it should fix the problem.
