I've bought two trucks & paid for half his house for him over the past 25+ years with what I've spent on his services, so he gives me an occasional discount.

I don't know about cheaper, but Wilson Combat fixed the factory defect caused this M1911 to peen its first frame out in 3000 rounds. Something that Colt Customer Service could not (or would not).
I also had them do a lot of other work, such as the front/rear sights, match barrel and bushing, tighten frame, trigger job, new hammer, beavertail, probably some more, and it was all flawless.
Based on my experience, Wilson Combat knows more about 1911's than Colt.
