Korean Glock Mags

My local shop has a big 'ol box of them sitting on the floor. They look pretty decent, but I have no experience as far as function. Fit/finish looks pretty good.

I stick with the genuine Glock magazines... I'm probably paranoid, but don't mind paying a bit extra for the real deal.

Unless you like to gamble with your life unnecessarily, stay away as far as possible from that crap. For a little more $$ you get factory glock magazines. CDNN sports (cdnninvestments.com) usually has a great price on glock mags. God Bless America and those that defend her.

Dont do it. I have yet to find a reliable non-glock made glock mag. Some are better than others, but so far all of them suck. I'm not saying its not possible someone is making good ones now, I just havent found them. The funny thing is I havent found non-glock mags for my 21 cheaper than 15.99. If I shop around 2-3 times a year someone usually has glock mags on sale for 19.99-24.99. To me it just isnt worth it to get the cheaper ones. Plus, if it cause a FTF or something I wouldnt know what to do, as it never happens otherwise. ;)

Not that this is a direct parallel, but I have some taiwanease T-57 mags for my m1a and they work just as well as the GI mags I have and I could get them for 20$ apiece shipped to my door(before the insanity) which is a little bit cheaper than the G.I. mags. Consequently I'm always willing to give another alternative a try, I've yet to read a explanation of why they're bad besides being made by someone else. I'll wait to hear some first-hand experience before I make a judgment.

I have 15 of them coming. I plan on doing some short and long term tests with heavy round counts on them.

They are apparently pretty close to OEM mags. Springs are a little weaker but all parts are interchangeable with factory parts from what I've heard.

I got mine for $11.99 a piece.

There was a review of them on ar15.com a while back. General summary seems to be that they're pretty good for range mags, but are a little less well made than actual Glock built mags. Prices don't seem to be good enough compared to deals on places like CDNN for Glock made mags to make them a really irresistible buy, though.

I have two of those Koreans, have ran 500 plus rounds through them, I also have 4 glock mags and there is no difference that i can tell. not one jam out of my glock thus far. and ive puts a good 2k through it.

CDNN is out of used mags and new ones are $24.99. I can buy 9 KCI mags for the price of 4 Glock mags.

For that price, I had to at least test them.

I see that they have a metal lining, so they're probably OK. I bought an all plastic 15 round mag during the last AWB and, when fully loaded, it would spread the feed lips and I'd have 2 or 3 loose rounds that popped out in my pocket.

I do not have any experience with them but they are only 15 bucks a piece from jgsales.com

The last batch of factory Glock mags I bought were only $19.95 each. I think I'll stick with the factory ones.

Why would anyone want to buy anything other than a glock magazine made by glock?????

they were given to me with the gun. along with 4 others that were made by Glock.

Why would you risk buying this crap when for a few dollars more you can get genuine Glock magazines. IMO a used Glock magazine is better than a new one made by Kim.

Price and availability

Have you guys priced GLOCK factory mags lately? $25 seems to be the going rate everywhere I've looked.

I got a good supply of mags when they were $12 new, but they aren't going to last forever. Even if I wanted to pay $15 for a used, non drop free mag, everybody I know of is sold out.

I'm interested in the Korean (not North Korea) mags for range use.

If they are reasonably reliable, great, I've now got 15 mags to abuse while my OEM mags live to see another year.

If they suck, oh well, I'll get better at malfunction drills or sell them. Why do you care what I buy anyway?

Every review I've read about them says that they work as well as the factory mags. From what I understand, Korean police use them in their Glocks.

Since no other people make reliable Glock mags, that makes Glock the only true supplier of the magazines and as a result, they could fix prices as they see fit. So they could just as easily sell those $25 mags for $50 and you would have to pay that if you wanted a new mag for your Glock. Competition forces them to keep their prices lower. I say good for KCI.

Wow, so everybody who is bad-mouthing these Korean mags has zero experience with them specifically. (Prior experience with other non-OEM clearly tainting perception).

However, those who have actual experience with them have nothing bad to report?

I'm in for more objective reports on these suckers.

Groundhog, do you seriously think the US is importing pistol mags from N.Korea? Seriously? I'm gonna go to the fishing forums before my head explodes.
