It appears that Crimson Trace is not making a LaserGrip for the 21SF,

What would be your recommendation for an alternative? I'm not real sure about the internal LaserMax. Does it come with springs? Is it tough to install? Is it convenient to use?

LaserMax also makes a rail mounted unit that looks interesting. How easy is it to turn on and off?

I thought Streamlight made a combination weapon light and laser. But, I can't seem to find it now.

Anyway, what thoughts do you have?

Thanks

i don't claim to be an expert on this issue, but from my limited experience i've found that i'm terrible with any laser. anything more than one shot and its kinda useless. i have a problem with focusing on the laser instead of POA, and like i said after the first shot the laser is a lil' shaky.

i tend to believe that you can be better served with a good handheld flash light and a good set of sights (+ practice of course)

thats just my .02

Hmm, okay, thanks.

I haven't tried one yet so have no personal experience with them at all. I know some people like them and it seems like it would make sense that they may help in awkward positions poor lighting etc. So, I thought I would set this gun up with them and try it out myself. Of course, I am aware you need enough light to identify the target.

So, I was hoping someone with experience with a couple of them could chime in as to the best options.

Streamlight laser/light combo is called the M6 and M6x. I believe the light part can be LED or incandescent depending on which version you buy.

The LaseMax Uni rail mount is about the size of a toy matchbox car. They turn on with pressure on the switch on either side and off by centering. bright pulsed or can be set to continuous. has a rail slot so another accessory can be piggybacked to it. adjustable for POI and a 2 year warranty.
I really like mine.

Thanks for the replies.

The Uni-rail mount looks really interesting to me. And, I like the fact it is adjustable.

The guide rod unit is not adjustable. Although it seems the switch would be in a good place and it not affect holster fit. Currently, holster fit is not a real high priority.
