LMT upper and lower for SBR AR?

I'm going to get a 10.5" AR-15 in the near future, and I'm looking at LMT for my upper and lower, with an enhanced bolt, SOPMOD stock and two stage trigger, just because. I'm going to buy a complete lower, get it registered and engraved, then get a complete upper once the paperwork is back. I've never owned an AR before, just shot a few, so I've never taken one apart. Thus my reasoning for going with a complete upper and lower. I could get a standard RRA 10.5" from the dealer in my area, but it would end up being about the same price in the end (just under $1600 with everything), and I figure this way I'll end up with a little bit nicer gun, as well as spread the cost over a couple of months.

Is there anything I should do differently? Should I go with different parts or build anything myself? Anything specific I should look out for or avoid? Lastly, what kind of place should I look for to get this engraved?

A lot of the guys at ar15.com are using Orion Arms these days.
