M&P 9C vs. CZ PCR

Sorry, wasnt thinkin straight when I wrote that. I skimmed the other posts and didnt catch it all. I always thought that the websites gave every dimension of the gun too, wasnt tryn to offend you. I was wrong and learned something. Also, yes Minnesota is a great place. Grew up on a farm and found my way to the big city

I have both guns - plus a Glock 19 - and a caliper, but :banghead: no camera.

The M&P is considerably shorter in the butt than the PCR. (I could not measure this accurately with the caliper, but the difference is obvious, at least an inch.) The width of the grips at their widest point is also slimmer (M&P with medium backstrap 1.260 inches, PCR with slim wood grips 1.400 inches). The M&P's slide is considerably wider than that of the PCR (1.085 inches vs. a very slender 0.935 inch; its frame is actually wider than the slide). And the Glock 19's slide is 1.010 inches, far from the 1.4 you mentioned.

Which one do I like better? I'm still trying to decide. :) Subjectively, the slimmer PCR is more comfortable to carry IWB and has a less "top-heavy" balance. But the M&P has the same trigger pull for each shot vs. the PCR's DA/SA transition (it cannot be carried cocked and locked). Also, my personal M&P has had 100% perfect functioning from round one, while the PCR has exhibited some ammo sensitivity.

27 posts and I finally get what I was looking for!!!

I love the way my M&P shoots too. Its just a little bulky on the hip. I guess there is no free lunch. Anyhow, winter is coming. I'll be able to carry OWB for a few months.

What is the width of the PCR's frame? You mention it is wider than the slide.

Today I was at the range and one of the other shooters had a CZ Rami in 40cal. The Rami was the same overall length of the M&P but the slide was about a 1/2-3/4 inch shorter than the slide of the M&P. The slide was also quite a bit thinner. While the frame appeared about the same width of the M&Ps slide but overall its was much less bulky than the M&P. Heightwise it was nearly identical. I am really tempted by the Rami but I would have to give an honest range session to find out. The Rami this guy had wouldn't fee reliably. I think the recoil spring was too weak as it felt a little weak and it seems to throw its empties an awful long way.
