What is the standard capacity magazine? What direction and about how far does the weapon eject spent casings?
Thanks.

20rnds in the M14 but many new M1A's are sold with the 10rnd mag. They generally eject 2-3 o'clock but I've found it can depend on the ammo being shot.

Okay, are you referring to Springfield's commercial clone of the military M14 battle rifle, the M1A, or the A1 variant of the military M1 Carbine?

The M1A/M14's standard capacity magazine has a capacity of twenty rounds. Casings are ejected primarily between 1:30 and 3 o' clock. Most go about twelve to fifteen feet when I shoot offhand.

You can tweak the ejector spring and have some control over ejected case. 20 rd is standard with 10 round and 5 round (10 round with spacer) available. I use a 10 round for bench shooting.
