I am going to purchase a marlin camp rifle once I decide on the caliber.I have a 357 marlin lever and the velocity in that pistol round can be pushed to 2000fps.Does the same work for the camp 9 and 45.I don't expect them to reach the same velocity as the 357 but I would expect some increase.I intend to use the camp gun for plinking and some coyote hunting.Of the two camp rifles which would you choose and why?

to the readers.....You don't need to respond to my questions.Since I have a colt AR in 7.62x39 I've decided to get a 9mm and a 45acp top end for it and that will cover all bases.I'm retired and have nothing but time and money. Thanks anyway.

I have a Camp 9. The action is not really strong enough to max out the 9mm, for example I would never shoot my major 9 USPSA loads in it, again, now that I have it back together.
If you already have a 357 lever I don’t know what either could give you. I will say my 9mm AR will shoot hotter loads but you are still not going to get to carbine .357 numbers.

9mm is easy but the 45 will take a different lower in almost all cases.
