Missouri laws regarding pistols for under-21s.

NavyLT....thanks for pointing out the importance of a gift being different from a straw purchase. I was kinda confused on that issue as well. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the laws. Especially when they seem to change so often. I wanted to give my nephew a pistol for his 19th birthday but I wasn't sure it was ok. And I always fill out the paperwork honestly. (even though it's a pain in the neck at times.) If the State of Mo. has any problems with it, I'm sure I can count on them to let me know. lol

Also, I carry a knife around most days. The blade length is under 4", which means it's legal in MO. Does it count as a "dangerous or deadly weapon" for the purposes of the hijacking stuff?

I think so. Sorry:(

I had to get an "office knife" (I work in a Federal facility,) in order to CMA. A "bus knife" might be in order for you.

Not that I agree with the law; it's not as though you could hijack any more effectively with three inches of blade as opposed to two point five. I frequently find myself reminding folks that three thousand people were murdered by means of box cutters and a little bit of fear. We've got plenty of both. . .

So it has to be under 3" to be metro-legal?

I certainly hope my pepper spray is metro-legal. :uhoh:

WOW!!!

Sure woudn't do what i did as a kid, like walk to school hunting and give the teach my gun to put in the closet to return to me after school and hunt my way home.
I tell my kids these things and they say (OH DAD), i think we haven't seen the worst yet and i pray, oh well.

I certainly wish my college had a program like that, but whatever.
