i went to the gun show in fayetteville nc & rite off saw a model 10 like my grandpa had that got missing when he died ,but i found it,it had been hocked because my cousins wife didnt want a gun in the house!!!:fire::fire:
so i looked it over & paid 265 for it ,shot very little ,very lite turn ring ,pencil barrel thats pinned very solid & smooth as glass trigger!!!
probably paid too much ????? but i wouldve felt terrible leaving it there!!!
the only smiff in the house now, but the memories it brings back are priceless:):):):)

I have a 15-4 that I paid $200 for two years ago. It was unfired, but had been exposed to moisture, so it had some pitting on the barrel and cylinder. I thought I had paid too much as well, but it shoots 1 1/4" groups at 25 yards. The trigger was stiff at first, but now as smooth as any Smith I have (5). Take care of it and it will give you a better return than the stock market.

I agree with Ron.
Prices on the "classic" Smiths and Colts are going through the roof. I think you done good - go shot and enjoy it.

Is this your grandfather's ACTUAL gun? Or just one like it?

If its the actual one, you clearly didn't over pay (nothing like a true "family" gun).

Thats great, I hope that is infact Grandads gun. My Mother gave me her 10-8 yesterday and what a nice shooter it is. Thanks Mom. Robert

a pencil barrel is the litest brl offered by s&w reel thin & lite.
the standard now is a heavy ,like the one in the web site pic for mod. 10

If it was actually you grandfather's gun you got a bargain, you can't put a price on something like that. Not a bad price either way. Enjoy it, I know I do all of mine (3)
