Well I picked up my new Stoeger Cougar 8045 .45 ACP at my local gun shop Friday and shot 80 rounds through it on Saturday. What a nice shooting pistol. Accurate, low recoil, low muzzle flip and not the first failure of any type. Fit and finish is excellent. For $449 these pistols are a great buy. As usual, the wife out shot me again. :) Now to find a holster that will fit a Cougar that has a rail. The holsters I have for my Stoeger Cougar 8000 F 9mm won't quite fit the 8045. The rail makes the fit too tight.

labhound, thanks for the info! Does your 8045 feel & shoot the same as your 8000? I had an 8000 & have an 8045 on layaway that I'll be picking up in a few weeks.

The grip on the 8045 is just ever so slightly bigger front to back. Other than that and the rail it's exactly like the 8000. Accuracy is very good. Recoil is a little more that the 9mm 8000 and that's to be expected, but nothing to be concerned about. The wife had no trouble being right on target at 15 yards. I honestly shot it better that my 9mm 8000. It was hot out and my hands were getting sweaty by the time I got around to shooting the 8000 and I didn't feel I had a consistent good grip on the 9mm. Minus the sweat, the guns are dead on target! :) You'll love it!

Thanks labhound!

Have you found a holster for your stoeger 8045? If yes please let me know what you decided on. Just bought mine and I'm looking for a paddle holster, not having much luck.
Thanks

i just bought the stoeger 8045f for $399 can wait to go shoot it. It came with 4 mags and gun lock. Plus one fired round, empty case..don't know what that means.
