Picked up one of the Auto Ordnance M1 Carbines a few weeks ago, and I'm having great fun with it as a plinker.

Only problem is that .30 carbine ammo's expensive in this neck of the woods and I'm not finding the Korean surplus on the market like I used to. So I'm looking for loads for .30 carbine that approximate the original military ammo for the rifle.

Any suggestions?

Cross-reference for yourself and don't rely exclusively on my typos...

14.0 to 14.5 WW-296 under any 110-gr jacketed but ROUND nose .308 bullet.

I reload my carbine with 2400 at 10 grains (10.3 max) behind a remington 110 (.308) MC (FMJ) bullet. It is a tad light compared to the milsurp stuff I've shot but it handles well and 2400 meters much better than H110. Havn't tried the WW powders in this caliber, but I did 1 lb of H110 and I'm not going back to it anytime soon.

My standard carbine load is Win296/15.0 grains, CCI small rifle primer, and a 110 grain Remington JSP. I chronoed an average of 2,095 fps and about 1,000 ft. lbs. of muzzle energy. I also used Win296/15.0 grains and a 110 Speer JHP and got 2,062 fps.
