I'm looking for a knife I can carry every day.

1) Blade should be between 3-4 inches.

2) I prefer non-tanto style blade.

3) No serrations

4) looking to spend $50-80

I really like the Kershaw Blur. Probably going to pick one up but would like to see what else is out there that is similiar in style.

Kershaw Leek, all stainless steel is very nice. However, it might be a little small for you and the grip is SS so that might not be of your taste.

I found the Cold Steel Recon 1 to be a good knife for me.

Alternative

I'm a Kershaw fan.

Your choice seems like a good one.

In the interest of identifying alternatives, though, I'll suggest looking at Buck Knives' offerings in that range.

The Buck Sirus comes to mind. Available in their usual 440HC or in 154CM.

Also the Buck Tempest.

I have the Sirus in 440HC and 154CM (Bos Heat Treat).

It's a handful. Good edge, good steel.

I'd say Spyderco Endura 4. Slim, four carry options, tough enough, easy one hand opening. About $60.00 for a plain edged black handled one.

Some ideas:

Spyderco Wave Endura 4 (not assisted, but probably faster).

Anything from the CRKT M16 series (also not assisted, but that flipper makes opening nearly as fast as an assisted knife).

Kershaw Leek/Scallion/Shallot/etc. (I'm pretty sure those are all assisted).

AO manufacturers include Kershaw, Timberline, Myerco, SOG, Benchmade and several others. Plenty of non-broken tip blades in that lineup in your price range.

I like the feel and "heft" in my hands of my Kershaw Whirlwind (~$60). Good, fast one handed action and a razor sharp blade that keeps its edge. 3.5 inch blade is legal to carry in Seattle city limits (and many other cities, check your local laws) and a nice balanced handle although I feel like the handle material is fairly cheap. Otherwise I love this blade and it's on me all the time!

I know this is not a pocket knife but I have to mention it. My Leatherman is the best tool I own and the blades in the nice ones ($80) flip out from the outside with your thumb.

Kershaw Blur, non serrated clip point or CRKT My Tighe non serrated. I have both and love both. The My Tighe seems to hold its edge a little better

i carry a kershaw leek absolutly every day. perfect blade length and shape, plus the handle is nice and thin so it wont be rubbing a hole in your leg all day!
