Now that I know you have a good revolver I'll have agree with StrawHat. Get yourself reloading gear. You can get it for less than a new gun and you'll be able to shoot far more. Another plus is that you can load down loads like .357 and .44 magnums. I don't shoot too many max loads in my guns. As a matter of fact with my .44 Super Blackhawk with the 4 5/8" barrel I have no intention of shooting full power loads ever.
Getting good with a handgun takes a lot of practice, much more than a rifle, and you'll need a good amount of ammo to achieve good accuracy which makes it more fun. Btw reloading is easy. Get yourself a good reloading book like the Lee or Lyman or others. You'll need a reloading book anyway for the loads listed in them.
