Looking to have a new finish done on my gun since the gunsmith didn't do it right last time.:cuss: Looking for something like a bright chrome, brushed chrome, or possibly a hard chrome. Can anyone post pics of their finishes to help me make up my mind. Any help would be appreciated, i can't make up my mind:confused:

I would definitely go w/ a hard chrome or some sort of matte finish, at leas on the top of the slide, unless you only like shooting on overcast days.

I like matte black, but I also like corrosion resistance. I recently bought a Kahr PM9 with all stainless and polymer construction so there's nothing to rust, and the slide finish is their Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Coating). It's a matt black finish that is super hard, Rc90. It's smooth as velvet and so far has been completely scratch proof. I love it. Here's a picture:

I think Ceraguard is a very durable coating. These guys do it and have a very good reputation:

Chrome or black chrome:

Professional Gun-Kote (DiamondKote):

Or, you could apply DuraCoat or Gun-Kote yourself:

The last two are spray on finishes that aren't so much hard as they are tough. The finish is similar to epoxy powder coat, and it wears well. It's not simply a spray paint.

For DIY gun finishing, you might try Brownell's (link above) or Midway:

Hard Chrome

Hard chrome is such a nice finish. It is beautiful and very durable.
