Need help removing the sights from a M44

I was wonderin if anyone can tell me how to remove the rear sight from a Mosin Nagant m44. I've tried hitting it with a punch and it won't budge.

Does it involve using an Acetylene torch?

For me even a torch didn't work! HACKSAW!

all you have to do is knock the pin out and take it off. You don't need any big hammer or anything....

knocking the pin aint doing s---. and I don't want to destroy the sights or the finish.

try a rubber mallet or wood..
